Breakfast was pumpkin oatmeal with vegan carob chips. So sweet and smooth. I used organic baby food-squash in a jar, 2 tablespoon of Sunspire's vegan carob chips, 1/3 cup Quaker quick oats, 1/2 cup almond breeze vanilla, 1/3 cup water, cinnamon and 1 tablespoon maple syrup to drizzle.

Because I enjoy sweet breakfasts, I make sure of it that I add cinnamon into everything. It helps to keep the blood sugar levels stable without allowing to it get too excited from the sweetness which leads to induced cravings. Yes, sugar ain't no friend of mine.... 'frenemy'. Keep your friends close, enemies closer and frenemies closest!
Lunch at... CEDELE! Oh how I simply love Cedele. It has never once disappointed me. I had a Thai rice salad which I would rate a 10/10! Every time I try something new there, it just surprises me time and time again. I never have to worry 'bout not liking it. The salad was infused with lemon grass, chopped red chili skin and dried shrimp. The flavor is to die for! It was so good that I took away another bowl for Mummy to have for dinner. She loved it too. It makes "normal" people wonder, when did healthy wholesome food ever taste so good? No trans fat in everything mind you! On the side I had a grilled red pepper and tomato soup. The weather was doing me in with it's unforgiving miserable chilly feeling, hadn't the intention to have soup, but it was good. Had it before, dairy-free and meat-free.
Sent a whatsapp message of a picture of my dinner to my sister. Her reaction? "Ew! What's that!" Haha! I always do that to people. The food I eat looks questionable but tastes delicious. Mummy tried it and agreed. It's a super thick Green Monster. Here's the recipe for it 'cos it's so good. But I reckon the thinner version I made last week to be much better. This is unless you're real hungry!

The thick Green Monster
dairy-free
serves one

150-200g plain baked Japanese sweet potato
1 overwhelming cup of spinach
1 cup of Almond Breeze vanilla milk (+ 2-3 tablespoon)
1 scoop Spirutein vanilla protein powder
Generous shakes of ground cinnamon

1. Stab the sweet potato, coat in Crisco 0 calories butter-flavored spray and bake for 30-45minutes (depending on size).
2. Chop baked sweet potato into chunks, let cool for 5 minutes.
3. Add the sweet potato with all other ingredients into blender.
4. Blend and stop to stir (it's REALLY thick!)
5. If it is too thick, add gradually 2-3 tablespoon more of milk

Green Monster in the making........
This is an amazing blend of the following.

Black-forest Green Monster
(Dairy-free, sugar-free)

1 cup spinach
1 Dole banana
1 cup dark cherries
1 cup Almond breeze vanilla milk
1 tablespoon carob powder

It was a little to the liquid-ish side because I added in more milk because it was finishing anyway. Did not include protein powder this time round too. I love my Vanilla spirutein blends. Definitely a keeper! By the way it was lunch. Due to a very full dinner out last night, I skipped breakkie and just had warm water the entire morning. I hate missing breakfast :( Hence, that made lunch even more satisfying. Slurp, slurp!
After which Mummy and I finished catching Under one roof before setting off. I went to Tanglin mall's Brown rice paradise, again. Had already forewarned Mummy that I need to spend a heck load of money here in the next 3 months because I want the membership. I'm almost halfway there, would be very close if I hadn't misplaced the very first (and highest spent) receipt!
My buys of the day. Peanut butter & co Smooth operator, which is regular creamy PB, love this brand! Blue Diamond Almond breeze Vanilla. Ener-G seattle brown loaf, which is gluten-free, wheat-free and dairy-free brown rice bread. Unsweetened carob chips to replace chocolate chips in my bakes. Teriyaki flavored sprouted sunflower seeds. A box of mini Larabars. Raw cashew nuts. Lastly, Lucy's sugar cookie that is wheat-free, gluten-free, dairy-free and egg-free. I was really looking forward to getting Enjoy Life's crunch sugar cookies but they said they don't carry that. Weird, I remember seeing it the last time.

Headed to BodyInc for the ion osmosis detox for the second time. It was great. Toxins being cleansed out is just wonderful. My condition has made a very slight improvement from last week. Can't wait to see what the coming weeks will bring.

I really did not know what to have for dinner so put up this lip-smacking combination of 2 slices Seattle brown loaf with creamy PB and black olives plus toasted over roasted butter-flavored curry broccoli. SO GOOD!
After dinner was yet another stroll in the park with the brother for about half an hour. A very windy, and lovely evening indeed.

The almighty green monster!!! I have finally attempted this chock full of goodness and man does it taste good. Mummy took a sip and agreed, even though she was highly disturbed by its color. Did I ever mention I love eating weird colored food. There are days I wish I could have blue eggs. Hmm.

Was in a major scurrying mode (rushing to school) so did not manage to snap the ingredients I put in, but I'll do so next time which will be soon :) I'm just going to name them here to share the love.

Green Monster
Dairy free

Spinach leaves, 1 large handful
1 banana
Blue Diamond Vanilla Almond Breeze, 1 cup(250ml)
Vanilla spirutein protein powder, 1 scoop

Throw them all in the blender and whizz up some magic!

It was my lunch by the way. Woke up feeling so bloated, apples are just not good night snacks I presume. I had Gnu foods lemon ginger bar smeared with white chocolate dream PB for breakfast, accompanied by gallons of warm water.

The green monster lunch was at 11-ish on the go as I had to rush to school for a project meeting. Thank goodness for Mummy who sent me to school.

After school I headed over to Isetan at town and bought my favorite aunt from my paternal side a birthday gift. After which I bought some air-tight containers for my foods and some Japanese frozen food at the supermarket.

By the time I got home it was just in time for dinner. I had planned to take a half an hour leisure cooking time in the kitchen but plans were dashed when my brother was having tuition there. Bummer! Settled for an instant meal, again. I bought this Asian vegetable flavored organic maggi mee. Everything about it was healthy, 190cal- 10 from fat, low carb and all... but I spotted sodium at 1500+! So miserably disappointed but I ate it anyway considering my other meals did not consist of much sodium content for the day. Had it with some kai lan and snow peas. Super green day! Happiness.
It tasted okay, not magnificent or anything. The vegetables made it all better. I have another packet sitting in my cupboard in soba flavor. Sodium, sodium... how I hate you so!

I've been trying to cut out night snack these days as I'm always overwhelmingly full after dinner somehow. Sometimes I give in 'cos the hour before dawn is always a peckish one, then I get so bloated all the way through morning and my favorite meal of the day- breakfast, gets compromised. Why is this happening to me again? My weight remains the same though so I do not know why. Hope the weekly ion osmosis detox will help. Instead of fruits, if I do have a night snack I'm going to try having veggies next time round and see how it goes.

Drop dead diva's in the house tonight. My favorite English show on Channel 5 right now. Glee runs closely behind.

xoxo. God bless.

Food food glorious food! I'm finally getting excited about food again. It is just that the past one-two weeks has been quite a traumatic experience with the occasional gastric, binges and bloating which I'm still bloated by the way. But I'm taking baby steps. None of an extremist most definitely. Trying my best to go Dairy-less(I mean LESS) and Gluten-LESS, as well as cut down my consumption of processed foods and meats like beef and chicken (since I already do not eat pork). The reason being is simple, these foods stated above are hardly digestible in my tummy and it irritates me to a point where I think enough is enough. Made an appointment for nutrition help by BodyInc, Jacelyn Tay's health and wellness centre that incorporates both Western and TCM methods.

Hot hot Sunday morning it was. So, Kashi Go Lean cereal with Quaker Oatmeal Squares, 1 chopped nectarine and Silk Vanilla Almond milk. I am so in love with this brand of almond milk! It has a thicker consistency than rice/soy milk, which I am totally enjoying. The vanilla gives it an amazing healthy sweetness, which I desperately need all the time.

Lunch is always light on a Sunday, I don't know why. I can't seem to handle a heavy Sunday lunch. So a banana smeared with coconut butter it was! With a side of S'mores LUNA bar. Okay this bar is highly raved about on health and fitness blogs, but the ingredient make up is not what I'd call healthy, with fructose, multiple ingredients, palm kernel oil, etc. I do not eat S'mores flavor either, but I grabbed it when I saw it at Four Seasons Organic Supermarket because it was... LUNA! I enjoyed it nonetheless, so I might considered it again. Always on the lookout for a healthy substantial one :)

Mid-day I made myself a greeeen smoothie or smoodee rather, with the organic greens I got from the workshop yesterday. What went in there?

Sera's Green monster

Ingredients: Handful of kai lan leaves, handful of sunflower sprouts, 1 Pink Lady red apple, 300ml filtered water and 1 tablespoon Manuka Honey

It was kinda thin, because rightfully there must always be a dense fruit present, which I didn't have at hand. Dense being, banana, papaya and such. Taste wise it was fine. The portion serves 2, so little brother had the other half, he said it looked and smelt weird but tasted nice. It is important to use organic greens and clean fruit because it is taken raw, and hence it is vital to ensure they are pesticide-free!
I had long awaited this simple, staple dinner. Steamed and coarsely mashed Japanese sweet potatoes with nuttelex and a side of blanched salt-free edamame. I was happy.

Now as I type I'm having my night-snack which is 1 packet of Meiji Plain Crackers. My fling with Quaker Chewy granola bars are over, or at least I think.

The idea is that, I'm getting really confused with my body's response to food, hence the "...-LESS" decisions. Hopefully after the consultation I'll have a better idea. But ideally, eating mroe fruits and vegetables is always the way to go. I'll never see myself becoming a vegetarian or a vegan, because my love for seafood goes deep deep. Nonetheless to adopt certain habits and practices is definitely a positive thing for myself. Sustainable living.

xoxo. God bless.
